A host of independent software vendors (ISVs)* also assess it to check that it can zip through compute-intensive, multithreaded tasks. It also comes with a number of energy efficiency and sustainable registrations and certifications, including EPEAT® Gold and TCO 9.0. What's more, its packaging is composed of recycled, biobased, and/or sustainably forested content.

Taking the guesswork out of security
At the heart of every ThinkStation P8 lies ThinkShield—a suite of essential hardware and software security solutions that work together to safeguard your workstation and your data. It includes the Trusted Platform Module (TPM) to encrypt your passwords and data. Smart USB protection prevents unauthorized access to the USB ports, of which the P8 has many. It also has a self-healing BIOS feature should the system becomes corrupt or is maliciously attacked. And there's a Kensington Security Slot™ to physically secure the PC.
